New for 2026, we are launching an early season of Halifax cage diving. Starting in mid-June, guests will have the chance to be among the first in the water with Atlantic Shark Expeditions this summer.
You will most likely encounter Blue sharks, with Mako and Porbeagle sharks also frequently observed around the cage. Guests join our team both on deck and in the cage, experiencing the thrill of shark diving while learning more about these fascinating animals.
Enjoy the sharks from the deck above water or take the plunge in our custom-built cage designed with guest safety as the top priority. Scuba certification is not required, air is supplied from the surface through secure hookah lines, allowing divers to focus fully on the experience.
It’s an incredible way to kick off the summer combining adventure, education, and unforgettable moments face-to-face with sharks.

The boat departs and returns from Sambro, a small fishing community outside downtown Halifax. While accommodation and transport to the dock in Sambro are not included, we have partnerships with several businesses that offer our guests special discounted rates on accommodations and local transportation. Every day offers a unique adventure. Booking multiple days increases your chances of seeing various shark species, observing unique behaviors, and enjoying optimal weather conditions. We offer 10%, 12%, and 15% discounts off entire bookings of 3, 4, and 5 days, respectively. Discounts will be automatically applied at checkout when you book 3, 4, and 5 different expeditions; expeditions don’t have to be consecutive dates or times to take advantage of this multi-day discount.

No. In fact, some of the best shark viewing is above water, watching these amazing animals cruise by the boat.
No. Experiencing the sharks underwater from the safety of the cage does not require scuba diving or scuba certification. Cage divers are supplied with surface air via a hosed hookah system.
